Coronavirus Policy
As a childcare provider we take health and safety and Infection control protocols within the school very seriously, we continue to review our policies in order to put measures in place for to protect all children,carers,staff and visitors within our setting.In light of the current outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have put together some information on our procedures, all of which is based on Government Advice and Department for Education.
Coronavirus Symptoms (Exclusion Guideline)
- High Temperature (37.8 or above)
- New Continuous cough- this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
System of controls
The nursery will follow the prevention and response guidelines to any infection within the setting.
Prevention
- Ensure good hygiene for everyone. The nursery will ensure hand washing is done on a regular basis and the catch it bin it approach is in place.
- Maintain appropriate cleaning regimes, using standard products such as detergents. Enhanced cleaning is carried out by designated individuals throughout the day, followed by a deep clean that is carried out by the nursery cleaner each evening
- Keep occupied spaces well ventilated.
- Follow public health advice.
Managing a confirmed case of Coronavirus
In the event that the nursery is informed of a positive test result the nursery will follow public health advice.
Face Coverings
The nursery will continue to recommend face mask to be worn in communal areas.
