What we did this week with in Babyroom

Modern Languages & Communication: Makaton Signing

Our baby dragons explored the basics of Makaton signing as part of our communication-focused activities. They learned signs for “please,” “more,” and “thank you,” practising through games and simple conversations. This helped enhance their non-verbal communication skills while promoting kindness and respect. The children loved using their new signs and are becoming more confident in expressing their needs and gratitude. Through this activity, we are not only developing communication skills but also fostering cultural awareness for children, as sign language is an important aspect of inclusive communication.

Exploring the Wonders of Nature: Our Excursion to the Natural History Museum

This week, our toddlers embarked on an exciting adventure to the Natural History Museum, where they explored the wonders of nature and history through interactive exhibits and awe-inspiring displays. Festival of the Week: Ramadan

In celebration of Ramadan, the children created beautiful chalk drawings of moons and stars on black card, learning about their significance in Islamic culture. As they worked, we discussed the meaning of Ramadan, fasting, reflection, and charity, encouraging thoughtful conversations. The children’s artwork beautifully captured the spirit of this special time, fostering cultural awareness for children and promoting an appreciation for diverse traditions. This activity helped deepen their understanding of multicultural education for kids by exposing them to the significance of Ramadan and its values.

Wildlife Day: Exploring Animal Habitats

For Wildlife Day, our little explorers created their very own wildlife habitats using sensory trays filled with green and blue tissue paper, wooden logs, and animal toys. The activity sparked discussions about different animal environments, and the children enjoyed role-playing as animals, bringing their habitats to life. It was a fantastic way to engage their imagination and deepen their understanding of nature, all while fostering cultural awareness for children by exploring wildlife and environments from around the world. This hands-on activity also contributed to their global learning for preschoolers, as they gained insights into the diverse ecosystems that exist globally.

STEAM Activities: Spring Painting Outdoors

To welcome spring, the children used rollers and shovels to create vibrant, spring-themed paintings on foil outdoors. They experimented with textures and colors to represent flowers, plants, and the fresh energy of the season. As they painted, we discussed seasonal changes, such as blooming flowers and the return of sunshine, encouraging creativity and scientific curiosity. This activity not only sparked creativity but also contributed to fostering cultural awareness for children, as it allowed them to explore the beauty and cycles of nature across different cultures. The children’s artwork helped develop their STEAM activities for toddlers, combining artistic expression with environmental learning.
