As part of our ongoing exploration of Northern Europe, the hatchlings brought the mesmerizing Northern Lights to life through creative art. Using foam paint, they experimented with colors and textures, spreading vibrant hues with their hands and paintbrushes to recreate the swirling lights of the aurora. This immersive activity encouraged artistic expression while introducing them to the wonders of the natural world.

Modern Languages

In this week’s Mandarin session, the hatchlings enthusiastically engaged with the beloved children’s song Two Tigers (两只老虎). Through music and rhythm, they were introduced to simple Mandarin vocabulary in a fun and interactive way, fostering early language development and cultural appreciation.

St Patrick day Hatchlings

Festivals of the Week

This week, we embraced the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, a celebration of Irish culture and heritage. The hatchlings explored a captivating sensory tray filled with a variety of textures, stimulating their curiosity and imagination. As they searched for golden coins hidden within, they actively developed their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination—transforming play into a rich learning experience.

Amazing Excursion

This week, the hatchlings embarked on a wonderful outing to St. Paul’s Cathedral, one of London’s most iconic landmarks. During their adventure, the children discovered a charming cherry blossom tree nearby, where soft pink petals gently floated to the ground. This serene moment provided an opportunity to observe the changing seasons, encouraging their natural curiosity about the world around them.

Blue Dragons

What an incredible week it has been in Blue Dragon! The children have been busy exploring, learning, and having so much fun through engaging activities. From creative arts and sensory play to exciting outdoor adventures

Regional Education

As part of our monthly theme exploring the UK and Northern Europe, the Blue Dragons learned about the renowned British artist David Hockney. Known for his use of vibrant and bold colors, Hockney’s art provided inspiration for our own creative exploration. The children experimented with a variety of materials, including bright-colored paper, tissue paper, and feathers, to create unique collages that reflected his distinctive style. This hands-on activity encouraged artistic expression while introducing them to an influential figure in British art.

Festivals of the Week

This week, the Blue Dragons embraced the St. Patrick’s Day festivities with an exciting and messy tuff tray activity! St. Patrick’s Day is widely celebrated in Ireland, where people traditionally wear green to honor Irish heritage. Our little learners had an engaging challenge—collecting gold and green coins before the mischievous leprechauns could! As they filled their pots with treasure, they developed fine motor skills and problem-solving abilities, all while having a fantastic time.

Amazing Excursion

The Blue Dragons set off on an exciting adventure to Fortune Park, where they explored different ways to navigate the climbing frames, learning important skills in balance, coordination, and safe play. They also practiced holding on to the swings, building both strength and confidence in their movements. To make the most of the wonderful weather, we enjoyed a lovely picnic, reinforcing the value of outdoor experiences in fostering social interactions and a connection with nature.

Specialist Teachers

This week was filled with engaging sessions led by our specialist teachers, bringing a variety of enriching activities to the Blue Dragons.

Sports Mini

The children focused on throwing and catching skills, enhancing their hand-eye coordination and motor development. They practiced tossing scarves into the air and catching them, developing precision and control. A highlight of the session was an energetic cone-flipping game, where the children raced against the coach to flip over as many cones as possible—an exciting way to build agility and teamwork!

Miss Molly

Miss Molly’s Magical Session

On Wednesday, we welcomed back Miss Molly for another immersive learning experience. This week’s theme transported the children to an underwater world using our magical parachute, stimulating their imagination and sensory awareness. The session also included an introduction to playing musical instruments, allowing the children to experiment with rhythm and sound in a fun and interactive way.

Dragon Flight

Regional Education

As part of our exploration of British art and culture, the preschoolers delved into the works of the renowned artist David Hockney. They observed his signature use of vibrant colors and bold patterns, focusing particularly on his famous swimming pool paintings. Inspired by his artistic style, the children engaged in a hands-on activity where they experimented with color mixing, creating their own dynamic and colorful masterpieces. This experience not only nurtured their creativity but also introduced foundational concepts in color theory and artistic expression.

Cultural Festival

This week, we introduced our preschoolers to the traditions and significance of St. Patrick’s Day. Through a themed sensory tray filled with green clovers, coins, pots, and oats, the children explored different textures, developed fine motor skills, and engaged in imaginative play as they scooped and filled their pots with treasure.

In addition to St. Patrick’s Day, we celebrated Neurodiversity Week, fostering discussions on inclusion, respect, and the beauty of individual differences. The children explored the concept of neurodiversity in an age-appropriate way, learning why it is important to recognize and embrace each other’s unique abilities. To symbolize diversity, they created rainbow artwork, decorating their pieces with colorful stickers in a joyful, expressive activity that reinforced themes of unity and acceptance.

It was a fun and engaging way to introduce early chemistry concepts in a visually captivating way.

This visit helped foster early literacy skills, develop a love for reading, and introduce the children to the importance of libraries as spaces for discovery and learning.
