Are you ready for an awesome adventure? Come with us as we explore rich cultures and beautiful places in our City of London school!
Amazing Excursions
The Flooded Garden - Tate Modern
The children had a delightful experience exploring “The Flooded Garden” on their trip to Tate modern.
This trip not only sparked their creativity but also deepened their appreciation for art and nature making it a memorable and enriching adventure for all.
Nurturing the children's love for art as early as now is never not a good idea. Doing this means we're raising future artists with a passion for creation!
Our Street
We took a trip down to this playful and engaging community space Our Street, an imaginary avenue full of playful games.
This trip is quite new - I myself have spoken to Barbican Centre the morning during my leafleting and got our flights involved that afternoon right away in coming down to this wonderful community space.
From hopscotch to hula-hooping to board games and crafting, there will be lots of different events this summer which we plan on taking part in!
Activities
The African Savana
This was an exciting opportunity to spark the children’s curiosity about nature and wildlife.
And what better place is there to explore than the rich African Savana?
In this activity, our curious kids have looked at the various animals that inhabit the savanna, helping them foster an appreciation for wildlife.
Molly’s Mindful Movement
We’ve started Molly’s Mindful Movement across all our classrooms.
This movement creates a holding space, which has been programmed to teach early years children the essence of being themselves in a creative space, where they can be seen, heard, and valued in their peer group.
Believing that all children need to have a voice in life for freedom of expression and growth. Below photos are of our hatchlings class engaging with the teacher through singing.
Foam Play
This week, the children had a fantastic time exploring sensory activities with foam play, enjoying the textures and creating fun shapes.
Languages
During the hot weather this week in blue dragons children enjoyed playing with ice/ water activity, eagerly touching it and saying "cold."
They were also encouraged to say it in Mandarin, learning the words "lěng" and "bīng."
Cultures and Regions
This week we have wrapped up our theme of the month. From The start of July the children embarked on an exciting journey learning about Africa.
They discovered the diverse landscapes, vibrant cultures, and incredible wildlife that make this continent so unique.
What We're Doing Next Week
Our kids are in for a lot more adventure here at Hatching Dragons - City of London. Stay tuned for more!
