This week, our Baby room had so much fun at Causton Park!

The children spotted lots of different creatures, like bugs and birds, and loved playing in the warm sunshine.

They were really curious about nature and noticed things like the leaves on the ground turning brown.

The Baby Room

This week in the Baby Room, our babies had so much fun exploring Australia!

We set up a tuff tray filled with soft, cuddly Australian animals like koalas, kangaroos, and some bumpy crocodiles.

Our babies loved touching all the different textures—soft, smooth, and bumpy—to help them use their little hands and discover new things.

As part of our Australian adventure, our babies also listened to the different sounds these animals make.

They heard the gentle cooing of koalas, the hopping sounds of kangaroos, and even the roar of a crocodile to help them start associating sounds with different animals, enhancing their listening skills and supporting early language development.

They’re beginning to recognize that each animal makes its own unique sound, adding another layer of understanding to their exploration of the world.

We also created a pretend city filled with toys made from various materials—some smooth, some rough, and some squishy.

Our babies had a wonderful time exploring this mini world to help them begin understanding the concept of space and object permanence as they explore how toys can move and interact with each other.

It also encourages cognitive development as they start making simple connections between objects and actions, laying the foundation for more complex thinking as they grow.

Outside in the garden, our babies had a blast crawling, toddling, and exploring. Some of our little ones have even just started taking steps independently, which is such an exciting milestone!

The fresh air and movement are excellent to help them build strength, coordination, and confidence in their new abilities.

This week, we also introduced the Makaton sign for "happy."

We used it during playtime, storytime, and while singing songs to help our babies express their feelings and connect with everyone around them.

This Week’s Fun Activities

Our Blue Dragons also had a great time with a math activity!

The children learned about weight by playing with scales. They put different objects on the scales to see which ones were "heavy" and which were "light."

They did a great job guessing which things would be heavier or lighter and used their problem-solving skills to figure it out.

In our cultural learning, the children learned more about Australian animals. They found out cool things about kangaroos and koalas!

For example, they learned that kangaroos hop on their strong legs, and koalas love to sleep in trees.

Learning about these animals helps the children understand more about the world and appreciate all the different animals and cultures out there.

This Week’s Adventures at Preschool

This week was packed with fun and learning for our preschoolers! We kicked things off with an exciting outdoor adventure at St. George Square.

The children had an absolute blast exploring the wide-open space, breathing in the fresh air, and playing lots of fun games.

Whether they were running, jumping, or simply soaking in the sights and sounds of nature, the day was filled with laughter and discovery.

Math Fun

During our math sessions, the children embarked on exciting learning journeys. We started with number formation, where the children practiced writing numbers correctly.

They engaged in fun, hands-on activities that helped them grasp the shape and structure of each number.

Through tracing, drawing, and using manipulatives, the children developed strong foundational skills that will support their future mathematical learning.

Next, we dove into subtraction! We explored what subtraction means, learned about the minus symbol, and practiced solving basic subtraction problems.

The children loved using objects to see subtraction in action, making the learning process both hands-on and engaging.

It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they mastered new concepts!

Exploring Australia

This week, we also took a virtual trip to Australia—without even leaving the classroom!

The children were fascinated by Australia’s unique landmarks and incredible animals. They learned about the Sydney Opera House, the vast Outback, and amazing creatures like kangaroos and koalas.

Discovering all the cool animals that live in Australia was a highlight for them!

We also explored the Chinese Ghost Festival, learning about the traditions and stories that go along with it.

The children were curious and eager to learn, expanding their understanding of different cultures and celebrations around the world.

Art Time

Our creative sessions were filled with exciting projects! The children worked on two special art activities.

中元节 Painting

To celebrate the Chinese Ghost Festival, the children created beautiful and colourful paintings.

They experimented with lots of different colours and techniques, producing some truly amazing artwork that showcased their creativity and what they learned about the festival.

Boomerang Fun

Staying with our Australian theme, the children learned about boomerangs and even made their own!

They had a great time decorating their boomerangs with bright colors and patterns. It wasn’t just a fun craft—it was also a fantastic way to learn about this fascinating part of Australian culture.
