International Festivals
If you, like us, look beyond borders we think it's important to celebrate landmark festivals throughout the year to help our children learn about the people's of the world....
Our Monthly Festivals
Each month, we have a regional focus to help our children interrogate the culture and landscape of a particular part of the world. But we also pepper our month with various international celebrations, typically those organised and promoted by Unesco as days that aim to promote peace, understanding and companionship between the peoples of the world. Those are values that we hold dear within our school and so we use these international festivals to teach the children about global campaigns, they origins and what they can achieve together to address some of the world's wrongs...
January Festivals
In January, we celebrate not only New Year, but also World Braille Day; Martin Luther King Jr and the International Day of Education. It speaks to our values of inclusivity and courtesy, which we focus on in January as a behaviour...
February Festivals
February is our East Asian theme, and it stands to reason that we should use it to celebrate Chinese New Years as our principal festival. But not the only one - we have World Interfaith Harmony Week; Children's Mental Health Week; International Mother Language Day and more...

It's the summer solstice - a time to celebrate the longest day of the year - and Pride month, Fathers Day, the Big Green Week for our campaign on climate change and the Maori New Year!
July Festivals
The month of July is jam packed with festivals and fun. We start off with Plastic Free July, Wimbledon and American Independence Day, before moving on to Nelson Mandela Day to learn about equality and human rights, finishing off with the International Day of Friendship. Phew!
August Festivals
In August, most people are on their holidays, and so too it seems for the festivals as we only have 4 this month: PlayDay UK, World Humanitarian Day, the remembrance for the abolition of slavery and the campaign for nuclear disarmament...
September Festivals
September is one of the busiest months for international festivals, as the international community returns from its summer holidays. We have world gratitude day, International Day of Peace, World First Aid Day; International Literacy Day and National Read a Book Day and more!

October is a vibrant month with major events including Oktoberfest in Germany, Halloween, Diwali and the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. The US also celebrates Indigenous Peoples' Day and World Mental Health Day raises awareness of mental health issues worldwide...

If Diwali hasn't happened in October already, it will be here, as will bonfire night, the Mexican Día de los Muertos honors, American Thanksgiving and the Muslim celebration of Mawlid al-Nabi. We have Armistice Day, while Movember raises awareness for men's health issues globally and so much more...

Amazing Excursions
We don't just satisfy ourselves with trips to the park even if St James' Park is rather lovely. We aim to take our children on excursions no other nursery can provide. From Buckingham Palace, through to Westminster Abbey, Parliament through to the Southbank, we want to immerse our children in th rich cultural heritage and history central London has to offer.

Currently a subsidy only offered to 3-4 yr old children and only for the term after they turn three, the 30 hours free childcare offer is available to working families where both parents are earning more than £167 a week but do not earn, individually, more than £100k p.a. each. The good news is that the (current) government is offering 30 hours free childcare to 2 year olds from this September (2024) and for 9 month old babies from September 2025
