China's Hungry Ghost Fesival
China's Spirit Festival, also known as the Hungry Ghost Festival, is a traditional Chinese belief that on this day, the gates of the afterlife open, allowing spirits to roam freely among the living. Families honour their deceased ancestors by offering food, burning incense, and performing rituals to appease and honour these spirits. The Spirit Festival reflects Chinese cultural beliefs in respecting ancestors and maintaining harmony between the living and the dead, emphasising the importance of filial piety and reverence for familial heritage.
